Why Industry Cluster Empowerment Uses LinkedIn

Readers of the ebTDesign Forum often ask why we decided to base the Strategic Network for Industry Cluster Empowerment (SNICE) on LinkedIn. The simple answer is access built-in user base of over 30 million members.

The most important benefit LinkedIn provides to SNICE is a large network of peers with weak interpersonal ties. These people move in different circles that may only tangentially relate to the topic of industry cluster empowerment. However, they personify numerous possibilities for finding new opportunities for peer-peer learning and unexpected growth.

LinkedIn also provides SNICE with a reputation management system. One of the problems with blogging and/or other open networking opportunities is the lack of redress for unseemly comments. Users of LinkedIn want to appear reasonable because their peers are watching and they are quick to respond if they feel they are being misrepresented.

We never seriously considered starting our on social media platform because research shows that the majority of senior decision makers already have a presence on LinkedIn. Second, most private social media platforms top out at about fifty-thousand users. Third, we wanted to reduce the risk of getting caught on the wrong side of any contraction/consolidation that might take place as the strategic networking sector matures.

Improving the Practice of Industry Cluster Empowerment

Some of our readers have asked for more information on the Strategic Network for Industry Cluster Empowerment (SNICE). What are the expectations of the ebTDesign for SNICE? Where do we see things going and how do they relate to our prior discusses about P2P Economy transition?

SNICE was started as a means of answering questions about improving the practice of industry cluster empowerment. We, also, wanted to identify resources that guarantee the success of both business and community leaders. Which economic values are keys to engaging members and the adoption of self-accountability measures?

Entrepreneur support professionals (guides) point to practice as a means of improving leadership skills. If this is the case, our readers should be informed of which practice regimes will prepare them to perform industry cluster empowerment at the highest level. We invite you to join us as we explore these and many other questions about leadership in the P2P Economy.

New Micro Business Discovery for P2P Economy Transition Planning

Over the weekend, we ran across a new strategic networking site called Micromagnate. This site caters to small businesses with 10 employees or less. These entrepreneurs are the individuals who will benefit the most from the P2P Economy because they will be able to more easily turn their skills into economic value.

This micro business site fits very well with our SNICE community building activities. We are doing very well with attracting community leaders and industry professionals from the LinkedIn community. Now with the help of Micromagnate, we will able to interact with the type of entrepreneurs that will drive our P2P Economy transition planning.

Moving Past Wall Street into the P2P Economy: Part 2

When all the dust settles from the current financial crisis, United States lawmakers will see that the best way to fix the American economy is to empower more industry clusters/affinity groups/Special Interest Groups (SIG). The Strategic Network for Industry Cluster Empowerment (SNICE) is identifying as many resources as possible that can be used to educate local communities in cluster-based economic development. This material will also come in handy in the broader context of P2P Economy Transition Planning.

Lawmakers in the United States are dealing with the crisis of confidence in the financial sector. But they are not dealing with the fundamental changes which have to do with life in a P2P Economy. Even though America has been let down repeatedly by professionals in the financial industry, the American people are, for the most part, an optimistic people. They have a special knack for making the internal calculations necessary during hard times for standing together and with the rest of the world. Middle and working-class Americans see the need to redefine globalization. Now it’s time for the lawmakers to catch up.

Introducing SNICE to the P2P Economy

Sorry for the slow down in blog segments on the P2P Economy Transition Planning Process. We, at the ebTDesign Forum, have been working diligently to better understand the cluster-based economic development community. Once we fully appreciate where the members of the Strategic Network for Industry Cluster Empowerment (SNICE) live intellectually then we can introduce them to the benefits of the P2P Economy. This is becoming a very big step in the process of helping off-line industries use the P2P Economy concepts.
