The Top Three Hydrogen Convergence Onramps
Yesterday, we told readers of the ebTDesign Forum and our twitter followers that support of hydrogen convergence would yield access to new markets for natural gas. Today, we want to talk about what we are calling onramps to hydrogen convergence. Based on our research, these onramp markets show the best potential for the kind of growth we saw in the dotcom era.
As you know, hydrogen convergence is the process of converting all of our energy choices to a single energy carrier which protects consumers from radical changes in energy prices. All of these onramp technologies produce results that reduced the threat from radical changes in energy prices and protect the American Dream.
The first onramp market is aeronautics/aviation. While there has been a lot of press surrounding the hydrogen car. We at the ebTDesign Forum would suggest that aviation is the best fit for early adoption. In fact, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have both called for a global emissions standard which could easily be based on hydrogen convergence.
The second opportunity is distributed power generation. Mini-Grids and Smart-Grids that support hydrogen convergence provide an excellent solution for targeted service enhancement and disaster recovery. There’s nothing like having a 100kW generator sitting in your driveway when the lights go out.
The real killer application for hydrogen convergence is the hydrogen fuel cell car. More specifically, General Motors hydrogen skate board. A hydrogen skate board is the Internet equivalent of PC motherboard. It creates a multi-tiered mobile hydrogen platform. This completely changes the conversation about zero emission cars and should lead to the introduction of many new players.
The hydrogen convergence process can be thought of in much the same way as globalization. There’s no way to stop it or slow it down because it moves across borders. Hydrogen Convergence is happening all around us and the only decision left to be made is whether or not to be well-positioned. We hope you enjoy our picks for the best hydrogen convergence onramps to a sustainable energy future.
